Established in 2014, the husband-wife duo Kim Klein and Kyle Houghtaling bring a unique combination of Kyle’s love for the rugged Colorado landscape and Kim’s eye for portrait photography to their work.
Our goal is to keep this business small and close to our hearts. We limit our bookings to 10 couples per year to provide personalized service and create a memorable experience for each client.

"Everything I had ever dreamed of"
I used Kim for my wedding in September. To say that my pictures are gorgeous and everything I had ever dreamed of is truly an understatement. She was great to deal with during the planning stages. On the day of, Kim was prompt and professional. She was fun to work with and made everyone feel very comfortable. She was great at picking out locations and finding unique shots. She also was wonderful at the candid shots. These ended up being some of my favorite photos! I had originally picked Kim because I wanted my horses to be a special part of my day. The photos with my husband and our horses are beautiful and a wonderful treasure. I highly recommend Kim and hope to work with her again in the future!

Kim and Kyle are the perfect pair to have at your side to capture all the special moments on your wedding day, and as an added bonus, ease your nerves and be your hype squad! Each photo we received made us look fabulous and cemented the joy in our friend's and families' faces for years to come. Our wedding was in indoors, and with cloudy skies and rain, and photos in each setting looked amazing. I couldn't be more happy that we booked them...you need to!

Kim has always done my photos so it was a no brainer to use her for our wedding and engagements. She has a good eye for great landscape and locations for photos. she makes the process easy so you don't forget everything. Kim and Kyle always deliver and exceed expectations. They do a wonderful job at getting to know the people they're working with and delivering a product that has your name all over it. They make things relaxed, keep the schedule going on time and are great at working the crowd and keeping things professional. If I could give any advice, it would be to never "cheap out" on a photographer. You get what you pay for! You can't go wrong with Kim and Kyle!

FAQ
How long have you been a wedding photographer?
Kim started photographing weddings professionally in 2014, working closely with two established wedding photographers all over the state of Colorado. In 2018 she launched her own business, Wild Fern Photo Co. Kim and Kyle met in 2020, and shortly after they started photographing and adventuring together!
Can we view complete galleries?
Yes! We would love for you to get a feel of what your final gallery might look like. Typically we deliver in the range of 60 images per hour of coverage. Our goal is to make it easy to relive your wedding day in detail for years to come.

what equipment do you use?
We shoot Nikon Z-series mirrorless cameras with Nikkor mirrorless lenses. This is Nikon’s latest line of cameras and lenses. They are known for having the widest lens mount of any digital camera, which means they let in more light creating a faster performance. We shoot matching camera bodies with different lenses throughout the wedding day, making a nice variety of images for the final gallery.
When will we be able to view the edited photos?
Our gallery delivery window is just 30 days after your photos were taken. For weddings we deliver quite close to the 30-day mark, but portrait sessions often are returned even sooner than that! We truly mean it when we say we cannot wait for you to see your finished images!
Does kyle always wear a hat?
Yes, yes he does. He has two different hat looks available for weddings, we are happy to provide more details if you’re interested ;)
